This book includes christening gowns, daygowns, diaper covers, bonnets, booties, quilts and so much more. Techniques include Magic Madiera applique, basic heirloom sewing techniques, lace shaping, easy button loops and plackets. You will love creating a beautiful wardrobe for your precious dolls.

It includes two christening dresses one is a traditional heirloom party dress with a fancy band and the second is a magnificent curved puffing, heart lace shaping, machine embroidered one. The slip pattern comes in several different lengths to go with the christening dresses as well as the daygowns and shorter dresses. Two daygowns are also included with lots of different techniques. Two versions of a diaper shirt as well as diaper covers. The diaper shirt can also be made from any fabric to be worn as a “short jumper” over denim pants or pantaloons and a long sleeved shirt. The pants pattern can be panties, pantaloons or long pants,depending on your length and/or use of elastic at the bottom of the legs. A sweet dress includes Madeira appliqué instructions for a scalloped collar, scalloped cuffed sleeves and yoke trim as well as a scalloped border skirt. Pants and a shirt are also included for your doll’s casual wardrobe as well as a cute bib-style pants and skirt pattern. There are three bonnets made with very different techniques. Baby booties are also included to accessorize the heirloom outfits. Last but not least a patchwork quilt in both boy and girl versions.

And for Sunday's Best, one short dress has a “to the waist” bodice with entredeux around the waistline and the neckline and a beautiful skirt with a deep hem and tucks. Another fancy dress is pleated with hand embroidery. Of course, machine embroidery could be substituted. The final fancy dress has a very high yoke and is very simple with just a little Victorian embroidery at the bottom of the yoke. When I saw this book I knew we had to have it. The dresses are fabulous - there is a full size pull out pattern sheet with absolutley wonderful dresses, undies, , daygown, hats, bonnets, shoes and more. Learn Madeira applique, drawn thread work or "hemstitching", basic smocking, construction techniques, heirloom sewing techniques and heirloom embroidery stitches. Excellent instructions, well laid out, great line drawings and the colthes are the best I've seen. 72 pages, full colour.
