Internationally known Speaker and Proprietress of Labours of Love
Debra Justice is the president and founder of Labours of Love
Heirloom Sewing Supplies Inc. An online mail order company based in Abbotsford,
British Columbia, Canada. Debra's interest in sewing began at age 10, when she
was enrolled her in some sewing classes. By the age of 20 she was teaching classes
in quilting, a subject that she covered for several years during her off hours
as a civil and municipal draftsperson.
With a love for the Victorian Era it was only natural that Debra would fall
in love with Heirloom Sewing. Labours of Love was opened in 1990 offering a
selection of Vintage styled patterns, fine old fashioned fabrics, French Laces
and her own how to DVD "Precious Petticoats" an Introduction
to Heirloom Sewing. Her first DVD was received with rave reviews and "Sew
You Want To Get Fancy?" her second DVD soon followed. Her DVDs and patterns
have been featured in publications such as Sew News, Sewing Decor and The Creative
Machine. In 2004 Debra wrote her first book Modern Machine
Techniques which has already turned into a best seller. Her new book will
be released in March of 2007.
Debra teaches others how to recreate vintage clothing and teddy bears inspired
by the Victorian Era. Her no nonsense approach and fun seminars have made her
a favourite key note speaker and respected sewing expert nationwide.
She resides in Abbotsford, British Columbia with her boys Taylor and Spencer.
