Debra Justice is the Proprietress and founder of Labours of
Love Heirloom Sewing Supplies Inc. An online mail order company based in Abbotsford,
British Columbia, Canada. Debra's interest in sewing began at age 10, when she
was enrolled in sewing classes. By the age of 20 she was teaching classes in
quilting, a subject that she covered for several years during her off hours
as a civil and municipal draftsperson.
With a love for the Victorian Era it was only natural that Debra would fall
in love with Heirloom Sewing. Labours of Love was established in 1990 offering
a selection of Vintage styled patterns, fine fabrics and French Laces. She has
produced how to DVD's, "Precious Petticoats" an Introduction
to Heirloom Sewing and Sew You Want To Get Fancy. Her
work has been featured in publications such as Sew News, Sewing Decor and The
Creative Machine. Debra's first book Modern Machine Techniques
was a best seller and her second Learn to Sew With Your
Feet soon followed. Debra
inspires others how to recreate vintage clothing and teddy bears from the Victorian
Era.
With the success of her two books she continues to write as a freelance writer for SEW NEWS Magazine. She shares her ideas and new techniques on how to use a variety of sewing machine feet.
